Sarah Evans

I was born in 1974 in a small mining village in South Wales, Great Britain. Most of my atmospheric work reflects the landscape in which I was born and grew up in. I have a passion for painting these landscapes and the surrounding coast line and have more recently began to paint on other objects such as labels and antique silver plated spoons. Most of the spoons date from the early 1900s to the 1920s and were manufactured mostly in Sheffield, England. I am drawn to the idea of painting on a piece of the past, a personal, intimate object recycled as a piece of art work which can be displayed rather than discarded. The images I paint on these objects are a reflection of my memories of summer days spent on the beaches of Wales and Cornwall.
