Helen Dealtry is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice spans the use of watercolors, inks, and paints to create original imagery. Best known for her vibrant meandering watercolor florals, textiles and surface pattern designs patterns. Originally from Surrey, England Helen first came to work in the States after graduating with a BFA or Fashion and Textile design from Winchester School of Art. After spending many years in New York City working in the fashion & textile industry, Helen moved to Hudson, NY, which she now calls home. Living in the Hudson Valley surrounded by a lively arts community, organic farms, & its beautiful endless-feeling nature, has influenced her work tremendously. Helen is passionate in the belief that creativity lives in everyone, which encouraged her to teach custom floral painting workshops in her studio. Participants hail from all over the world, gathering in the Hudson Valley for an afternoon of painting live flowers, personally hand gathered by Helen from local farms & florists. As well as her studio classes Helen also teaches private classes across the US and Europe. Alongside a diverse studio practice & teaching workshops, Helen collaborates & works closely with companies, brands, and fellow artists to execute designs for products, customized packaging, pattern design and more. These works are part of a more personal painting practice inspired by Helen's travels between the UK and the US.
