By most accounts Annika Tara is a feral human being, driven by wildness and intimately identifies with natural forms. Images and traditional media, animal parts and plants remains are twisted, coaxed to juxtaposition. The repetitious rhythm of the felting needle and obsessive scratching of silverpoint exposes an evolving relationship to wild forms. The artistic process of scavenging forms, manipulating them and exploring the form they take is access to a heart-soul connectivity unparalleled by the orthodox. These pieces are intuition, they are knowing body & hand. They are unyielding fascination and tension between external and internal landscapes.
