Through solemn and chthonic environments, Amory regards the deep, mysterious corners of the world as places of wonder, isolation, and ancient magic. His work attempts to reinterpret the history of spiritual communion with nature by exploring the conceptual commonalities between charcoal, ecology, and fantasy, visualizing darkness and cataclysm in landscapes on the brink of transformation. Raised in Indiana, Amory relocated to the Pacific Northwest in 2014, earning his MFA at Pacific Northwest College of Art. He now teaches Illustration at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, British Columbia.
